Job Description

The video producer will work closely with the Production Director, Content Director, and Directorof Cinematography. The video producer will help make creative visions come to life with theirability to solve problems with creative solutions. You will be helping the video production teamwith booking and scheduling locations, props, and talent. The video producer will coordinatewith necessary teams to make sure we have what is needed for the production to be a success.You will help keep clear communication between client, crew, and talent. The video producerwill be working on various projects, but not limited to: docu-style stories, content for youtube,music video content, informational videos, promos, and service messages. The video producerwill be familiar with the video production process and comfortable working in a creative butdeadline-driven environment.

Who the Video Producer is:

  • A creative storyteller. Someone who loves finding, developing and telling stories.
  • A creative problem solver. Video production can be tricky and you need to help solveproblems from, “How do we get this shot on schedule?” to “Where can I get a bus for thisvideo?” This person loves a challenge, is not satisfied with good enough, and takes personalownership for figuring out how to take an idea and make it reality.
  • A people person. Working with different types of people such as creatives, clients, talentetc you must be able to work with all personality types and make sure a project doesn’t sufferfrom someone having an off day or having too many people involved in the direction.
  • A communicator. From client, crew and talent, you are able to communicate clearly andeffectively.
  • Love the process. You are familiar and can be involved in every aspect of the process frompre-production, production and post-production.
  • Detailed. Keep an eye out for continuity as well as wardrobe, hair, and makeup malfunctions.
  • Organized. Have the skills to help with the craziness of production. Keep things organizedfrom communications, schedules and data management workflows.
  • Flexible. Sometimes productions don’t go as planned. Be willing and able to come up with aplan b without much notice.
  • Willing to learn. Be open to jumping into the unknown and learning a new skill set outside ofyour comfort zone. Be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

What the Video Producer does:

  • Problem solving, problem solving, problem solving.
  • Collaborate with staff on various projects.
  • Crew coordination and talent scheduling.
  • Handle craft services (if needed).
  • Prep and coach talent on set.
  • Manage and run a teleprompter.
  • Location scouting, booking, and scheduling.
  • Help build up and tear down video production equipment.
  • Work with the Director of Cinematography on concept development and storyboarding.
  • Take part in a variety of roles as a member of video and live production crew.
  • Meet deadlines and uphold professional production standards.

  • Work successfully in the field and in the studio production environments.

  • Multitask and work across multiple media platforms.
  • Adhere to high video production styles and practices.
  • Bonus (but not necessary) if you:
  • Have the ability to film and record audio using a variety of equipment.
  • Ability to edit footage and audio with music and B-Roll.
  • Conceive, produce, shoot and edit video.
