Specialist for the 576th Flight Test Squadron working in

coordination with the Commander, Operations Officer, and Technical

Develops and maintains the 576th FLTS Protocol program for all

Distinguished Visitors (DVs) and coordinates with AF Global

Strike Command and the protocol officer at Vandenberg AFB, CA.

Serves as protocol advisor to the Squadron Commander, Operations

Officer, and Technical Advisor.

Maintains a database of distinguished visitors for the

commander.

Assists in monitoring work and training of the support staff in

support of the administrative and logistical requirements of the

protocol function for the 576th FLTS.

Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,

Administrative and Management Positions.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1)

year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or

equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience

includes protocol functions and the rules of diplomatic, civil and

military precedence, formality and etiquette to plan visits for

dignitaries and coordinate visitor reception, billeting ,

transportation, briefings, ceremonies and official social

functions.OR

EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education in a field

which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to

Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of

education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as

long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least

100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS)

POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable

time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at

the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements

for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position

or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will

be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills,

abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge in setting the priorities, efficiently assigning tasks,

and effectively works with other personnel and offices and for

recognizing which information is or is not relevant to the issue at

hand. Also must have knowledge of the concepts, principles, and

practices of a protocol program.

Knowledge and general understanding of Air Force, major command,

and military traditions related to protocol with a general knowledge

of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines to plan,

coordinate, and carry out protocol event preparation.

Skill and ability to properly coordinate and arrange for a

variety of appointments, meetings, conferences, travel plans,…etc

and be able to use courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with a

variety of visitors, personnel, co-workers, customers, and

high-level officials.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing to include preparing

and editing written correspondence and reports and conduct effective

briefings; and locating, assembling, and composing information for

reports, inquiries, and technical correspondence with knowledge of

various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques

to produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports,

spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.

Skill in planning and scheduling all aspects of officially

sanctioned visits by distinguished visitors, including high-ranking

military, domestic and foreign dignitaries, royalty, and heads of

state with knowledge of military, diplomatic, and foreign protocol

and etiquette requirements.

Ability to work effectively with co-workers, high-level

civilians, flag-rank military personnel, squadron staff and

personnel of diverse backgrounds.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for

appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify

the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total

number of hours per week.VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience,

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires agencies to

treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and
