Senior Accountant

A local/international manufacturer with many years in business is seeking for a Sr. Accountant to join the team. The company continues to grow and we are currently seeking talented people to join the accounting team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned. Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close. Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements. Ensure that all deliverables comply with professional standards. Provide assistance to Controller with external audits. Assist with accounting related general ledger projects and other special projects assigned by management.

 Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information

 Assist in closing financials; fixed assets, accruals, balance sheet, profit & loss, and inventory movement (most responsibilities rely on these tasks).

 Assists in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including Budget vs. Actual variance reports and providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances

 Assist in the periodic physical inventory counts and valuation analysis

 Responsible for performing inventory reserve analysis, including factory returns and liquidation reserve analysis.

 Will assist Assistant Controller with the high-risk reserve analyses: sales credit and warranty reserves, AR reserves, and freight and duty capitalization

 Reconcile inter-company accounts/transaction to facilitate consolidations

 Research and reconcile identified general ledger or sub ledger discrepancies

 Assist in designing and implementing internal controls across the organization

 Making recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures

 Training and mentoring junior staff

 Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations

 Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments

 Assist with upcoming systems implementations

 Reports to the Controller

Qualifications

 Must have an BS/BA Accounting degree and at least 4 years of progressive experience.

 Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

 Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and FRx or similar programs

 Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages at general and subledgers levels

 Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment

 Strong analytical and accounting skills

 Work with minimal up-front guidance and closely with all functions of the Company

 Excellent communications skills required

 MBA or CPA certification is a plus

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty

 Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
