What we are looking for;
We are currently seeking an Infrastructure Technician with 3 or more years experience in the Telecom Industry to grow our Infrastructure and Installation team. We supply the training, tools, and company vehicles.
Position Title: Infrastructure Technician
Must be able to work overtime, this position is 40+ hours a week
Must be willing to travel, this position requires weekly travel
Able to work outside in the elements
Aptitude for technology
Must be able to use hand tools
Professional-upbeat attitude
Good driving record
Able to work at height, this position requires Tower Climbing
Able to lift 75lbs
Tower/Linemen/Electrical experience a plus
Position Summary:
Responsible for the installation and troubleshooting of line voltage electrical and telecom equipment for Geolinks sites (Tower, Roof Top, Mountain Top, Etc.)
Primary Responsibilities:
Carries out Infrastructure work orders under the direct supervision of Lead Technician from conception to completion, on time and to code, using electrical, telecommunications, and low-voltage industry's best practices.
Maintains logs and documentation
Uses computer skills to configure networking gear for infrastructure installations.
Works at height including, extension ladders, roofs, and telecommunication towers in excess of 150' AGL
Is mechanically and electrically inclined having the ability to work with hand tools, power tools and wiring
Follows industry/company standards regarding safety policies and procedures per OSHA, ANSI, and NEC.
Maintains work areas, tools and PPE in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
Manages time efficiently in the functions of all field related tasks.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Job Requirements:
Grasping: Grasps tools, equipment, and Tower components of various shapes, sizes, and weights
Reaching: Extends limbs to install equipment
Lifting: Lifts up to 75 lbs.
Carrying: Carries tools and equipment, including on ladders, Towers, and uneven terrain
Push/Pulling: Pushes and pulls handcarts and toolboxes weighing up to 150 lbs.
Climbing: Climbs ladders and towers up to heights in excess of 150 ft.
Balancing: Maintains balance on ladders and towers while handling tools and equipment
Bending: Bends and stoops to pick up tools and equipment
Crawling: Crawls in attic spaces with low clearance
Standing: Stands for up to 12 hours per day
Hiking: Hikes up to 1 mile on uneven terrain
Sitting: Sits in company vehicles while driving anywhere from 3-12 hours per day
Knowledge, Skill & Experience:
3+ years experience or equivalent in the Telecommunications Industry.
Strong Computer Skills, Oral Communication Skills, Written Communication Skills, Organization, Professionalism, Time Management, Project Management, Good driving record, Must be comfortable working at height.
