Red Door Employment is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager for a reputable food processing plant in Oxnard, CA. The ideal candidate has a strong background in food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance, and is passionate about maintaining high standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs for the facility.
Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and customer-specific requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain QA policies, procedures, and SOPs.
Lead audits and inspections (internal, third-party, and regulatory); coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor and verify sanitation practices, allergen controls, and environmental monitoring programs.
Manage product testing, hold/release procedures, and non-conformance investigations.
Train and mentor QA staff and production teams on food safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Management to improve processes, yields, and product quality.
Review and maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation.
Support customer quality complaints investigations and follow-up.
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of experience in QA or Food Safety in a food manufacturing/processing environment.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and food safety regulations.
Experience with third-party audits and regulatory inspections.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment and manage multiple priorities.
Compensation & Schedule:
Salary: $75,000 per year
Bonuses: Performance-based bonus structure
Schedule: Full-time, on-site, with flexibility as needed during audits and peak production times
