This is an opportunity to be part of something great the exciting growth of a small employee owned manufacturing firm! We are looking for a long term, full time Quality Inspector Lead to join our organization. You will be responsible for staff performance with respect to safety, quality and on-time delivery.

You will perform inspections on components and assemblies ranging from diameters of Ã.003 up to Ã.875 and lengths of .100 to assemblies longer than 200. You will be involved in quality assurance of products that are used in various different industries such as automotive, medical, aerospace, and numerous others.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Qualified candidates will have experience interpreting manufacturing documentation, managing other staff, excellent hands on aptitude, attention to detail and the ability to use various inspection tools.

Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Support our manufacturing facility and be required to perform incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection for raw materials and finished goods.

Responsible for initiating and closing non-conformance reports and supplier corrective action requests.

A qualified candidate must be able to read and interpret CAD drawings, tolerances, inspection sampling plans, SOPs, MPIs, Work Instructions, Inspection forms, and be familiar with MRP software.

A qualified candidate will be familiar with the inspection equipment such as, micrometers, calipers, and other high-resolution measuring devices.

Experience with digital or optical measuring systems, and tensile testing software preferred.

Must be proficient in Microsoft programs specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with SolidWorks and PDF editing software a plus.

Duties may also include support of preventative maintenance, calibration program, maintenance of employee training records, and other ISO 9001 / AS 9100 related procedures.

Supervise the daily operations of the Quality Department.

Schedules staff and inspection activities focused on meeting customer demands.

Responsible for soliciting and communicating potential improvements in processes that may reduce cost, increase quality, and/or improve delivery of products through continuous improvement, lean manufacturing principles, or other means.

Ensure employees adhere to Company policies and procedures, safety rules, and employee code of conduct. Administer corrective actions as necessary.

Support and implement new, customer-focused processes in accordance with lean principles and practices. Provide training and coaching to improve standard work and housekeeping.

Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging quality inspection staff to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.

This position reports to the Quality Manager.

This will require some lifting to 50 lbs
