We have an immediate need for a PowerBuilder/SQL developer with knowledge of a subset of .NET and web technologies to assist with a wide array of assignments. Work will be 25% PowerBuilder, 75% web development, enhancements and fixes. Candidate must possess a diverse skillset to maintain legacy PowerBuilder applications as well as contribute to new web development and modifications. The position is responsible for system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and installing portions of new systems and modifying existing systems.

  • 5+ years of Strong PowerBuilder coding expertise
  • 5+ years of Strong skills in creating SQL
  • 5+ years of experience and debugging skills with .NET technologies (MVC/C#/VB/ASP)
  • 5+ years of experience and debugging skills in web languages (HTML/CSS/JS)
Thorough knowledge of:
  • PowerBuilder, including object-oriented programming concepts, user objects (both visual and non-visual);
  • PowerBuilder Foundation Class Library (PFC);
  • Current technology trends in the information systems field;
  • Methods and techniques used in defining application requirements, data modeling, and general systems analysis, design, and documentation;
  • Local and wide-area network components and technologies;
  • Database management systems, including Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase;
  • Project estimation, scheduling, and management techniques;
  • C# + .NET technology, Microsoft Visual Studio, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and HTML.
Comprehensive ability to:
  • Facilitate and document customer functional and data requirements;
  • Propose the appropriate mix of technology and procedural solutions;
  • Analyze complex procedures and develop logical conclusions;
  • Develop project plans and achieve objectives;
  • Participate in the analysis, programming, testing, and/or implementation of proposed systems;
  • Write and execute complete quires against multiple tables, utilizing SQL/Server relational database;
  • Write complex stored procedures, triggers, and views in a Sybase/Server environment.
  • Develop new applications, modify and maintain existing software, working closely with end-users, IT peers and management;
  • Make changes to prevent recurrence, modifying existing code and fault files, writing and running special programs;
  • Document the new applications, or changes made to existing applications;
  • Participate in unit, integration, and business acceptance testing of the applications; and
  • Troubleshoot application and system issues.
