- Bachelor s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master s degree with 4+ year experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Hands-on experience with defining and implementing formal design documentation for mechanical engineering designs including assembly and detail drawings, BOM s and 3D CAD modeling.
- Strong communication skills, including writing and presentation skills
- Good documentation and process discipline with close attention to details
- Proficient with SolidWorks part, assembly and mechanical drawing designs
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
- Proficient understanding Engineering Mechanics (Static and Dynamics) and Heat Transfer.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks based on guidance and direction from the engineering manager
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass TSA suitability background check
- Willing to travel abroad. If travel is necessary, typically will be 10%.
- Understanding of Engineering Change Order process. (ECR, ECO, ECN)
- Experience doing Finite Element Analysis
- Materials and material properties associated with outdoor platforms and electronic enclosures.
- Corrosion protection techniques and materials finishing processes
- Can effectively apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI Y14.5).
- Experience with X-Ray device shielding and collimation is a plus
