Job DescriptionAt Transplant Connect, we relentlessly pursue innovation that directly helps to save and heal lives around the world. We're growing rapidly and looking for a talented and passionate data engineer to join our team of visionaries! Our ideal candidate is very comfortable with advanced SQL and the Microsoft SQL Server ecosystem, including SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), and has spent several years building and maintaining OLAP cubes, data warehouses, and highly-complex reports. You understand how to fine-tune and optimize keys, constraints, indexes, data structures, and ETL processes for maximum performance. Additionally, substantial knowledge of PowerBI or a similar front-end tool is required to create interactive dashboards, charts, widgets, and interactive drilldown reports.If you are not located in the Los Angeles area, we are open to a remote relationship, where you'd primarily work from home and we'd fly you out to Los Angeles periodically for meetings and to spend time with our team here in L.A. (we're only a few minutes from the beach, too)…We will accept only candidates that: (1) reside in the continental United States, (2) have current U.S. work authorization, and (3) can work Monday-Friday during Pacific Time business hours (9:00am to 6:00pm)Skills & RequirementsHere's what you need:- Strong, expert-level knowledge in advanced SQL
- Deep understanding of data warehouse structures (OLTP vs. OLAP, Fact/Dimension, schemas, etc.)
- At least 5 years of experience working with SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS, and general ETL processes
- At least 3 years of experience working with PowerBI or similar tooling
- Strong at query plan analysis, query tuning, index optimization and performance troubleshooting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
