For more information, please visit our website at www.dignityhealth.org/woodland.ResponsibilitiesThe Family Birth Center Registered Nurse is responsible for patient care from admission to discharge. Spend one-on-one personal time with the birthing women before, during, and after labor and childbirth. You will be responsible for assisting, supporting, and educating women during delivery, recovery, and postpartum.Principle Duties and Accountabilities:Assess patients physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs considering diagnosis, age, care setting, desire for care and response to care plan

Deliver competent care as required by patient, plan of care, and care setting

Evaluate patients responses to care

Provide interactive patient and family education

Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team

Document according to policy/procedure, standards, and guidelinesParticipate in improving organizational performance

Work as a team member to meet team goals and objectives

Maintain a high degree of accuracy and precision

Demonstrate STARR behaviors and core values for Woodland Healthcare

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Ability to read, speak and write English required

One (1) year of experience in Labor and Delivery within an acute care setting required.

Must maintain all required certifications with renewals prior to expiration date (last day of the month that the certification expires).

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (all nurses whose home unit is Maternal/Child) must obtained within six (6) months of hire

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (all nurses whose home unit is Maternal/Child) must obtained within six (6) months of hire

Completion of Advanced Fetal Monitoring course every two (2) years required (Intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring acceptable at hire, but must complete the Advanced AWHONN course within one (1) year of new assignment to Labor and Delivery) or maintain the NCC EFM certification

STABLE certification (for all Labor and NICU nurses) must obtained within one (1) year of hire

Must maintain annual required competencies in the department

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
