SUMMARY: The Director of Software Development serves as the senior role in our software environment. This role is responsible for working with the VP of Operations and other executives in the devising, budgeting, and execution of the overall technology strategy and ensuring that all aspects of the company's technology meet the expectations of the executive team and provide exceptional customer value. This role represents a combination of technology and business expertise to provide the company with a strategic advantage expressed primarily through our SaaS software, production and service offerings and other supporting technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY ACCOUNTABILTIES:

  • Participate in the creation of strategy, roadmaps and execution for Enterprise Applications including SaaS applications, ERP, CRM, and Business Intelligence
  • Software development life cycle management and refinement (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, Digital Transformation)
  • Technology stack life cycle management in partnership with IT Director and other stakeholders
  • Managing and leveraging partners to deliver capable quality cost effective solutions to our customers
  • Gathering, warehousing, and reporting of enterprise solution data
  • Act as a strategist and champion for enterprise architecture and design principles
  • Co Partner with leader team to manage effective IT governance and security
  • Partner with project management office and service delivery resources for all assigned initiatives
  • Provide sound financial decision support and IT budgeting, with an emphasis on ROI prediction

OTHER RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Maintain an elevated level of accountability, recognizing the high-profile nature and security sensitivity of the role
  • Continuously adhere to all company policies
  • Assist other teams as needed, including business development and product fulfillment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must work well with customers and communicate in a fashion that promotes certainty and customer satisfaction
  • The Director manages and/or may manage other managers and other skilled subject matter experts in various project roles and is ultimately accountable for the quality of the team's work
  • Manage resource planning for fulltime, contract, and vendor-based resources
  • Must ensure that efforts meet time, scope, and budget requirements as outlined

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Deep understanding of the Healthcare sector that includes knowledge of the fulfillment chain of compliance communications, medical test kit assembly (variable data printing, data-dynamic document rendering, light manufacturing/assembly) and expression of these segments through advanced application of technology
  • Understanding of highly regulated industries as related to governance, risk, and compliance (includes an understanding of NPPI, and PHI as required by consumer privacy laws and HIPAA)
  • Must be an exemplary communicator, and able to address participants that have varying levels of technical acumen
  • Familiarity with various methods of project management and system analysis
  • Mastery of documentation authorship and refinement using tools MS Word, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of flowcharting methods and techniques
  • Possess excellent time management skills and ability to complete work under tight deadlines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years' experience of software development and management, preferably with experience in software development in a commercial environment, data security, and SaaS businesses
  • 10+ years of Enterprise Applications management including experience with ERP systems and CRM applications
  • 5+ years' experience with managing outsourced solutions for enterprise partner applications and IT workload virtualization, preferably with AWS and Azure
  • 3+ years of experience in leading, establishing & managing DevOps, CI/CD, automation, scripting, API development, versioning, and release control
  • ERP implementation/upgrade management in a supply chain environment
  • Interoperability expertise demonstrated through successful stack lifecycle management, legacy platform resolution, database systems
  • SDLC planning and design responsibilities
  • Experience interacting and presenting to executive management
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred (either Business or Technology)
  • Security certifications helpful
  • Experience with ISO 27001 and/or 90003 helpful
  • Experience with document rendering technologies
  • Experience with XML transformation applications helpful
  • Experience with MS Visual Studios helpful
