The Sierra Nevada Regional Department of Child Support Services (SNRDCSS) is pleased to announcement recruitment for the position of Social Services Supervisor. The mission of SNRDCSS is to enhance the well-being of children and self-sufficiency of families by delivering professional child support services. The core services provided by the department include the establishment of paternity and child support as well as the enforcement of support orders. SNRDCSS is looking for a candidate who is a strong and empowering leader to oversee a team of dedicated professionals with an enthusiasm for positively influencing the lives of children and families. While experience in child support is preferred, it is not required; overall, we are looking for a candidate who is a dynamic leader, will be a good fit with our team and enjoys living in one of the most beautiful regions of California. The successful candidate joins a dedicated team in Nevada County that treats our community and fellow county employees with dignity and respect.
Currently, there is one position available in the Department of Child Support Services. However, the eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future openings in either Child Support Services or Social Services as vacancies occur or the need arises.
Minimum requirements include graduation from High School or possession of a GED certificate, plus a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Communication, Business, Psychology, Social Work or a related field. In addition, two years of experience comparable to a Human Services Specialist III or IV or Social Worker III or IV.
