Job Summary:

Responsible for plumbing help to Journeymen on various plumbing job sites. Perform plumbing tasks for the installation for water, waste and gas. Responsible for drilling, cutting and installing pipe in new residential plumbing sites. Assist and teach plumbing to entry-level plumbing staff. Clean up job sites each day.

Essential Job Duties:

Following direction of Plumbing Foreman or Supervisor, perform plumbing duties in the installation of new residential plumbing.

Prepare plumbing material as directed.

With minimal supervision, drill, cut and install pipe and fixtures according to plans.

Under supervision, continue to learn the various phases of residential plumbing installation and improve plumbing skill set.

Monitor work of Plumber Apprentice, Plumber's Helpers and Plumber I's. Give direction to staff based on work to be completed. Assist Journeymen and Foreman with plumbing staff training.

Clean up work area daily.

Other duties as assigned by Plumbing Foreman or Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess prior residential installation plumbing experience.

Must posses the prior experience and demonstrate proficiency in at least two of the three phases of plumbing; water, waste or gas.

Must have valid California Driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites around the Bay Area.

Must be self-motivated and able to work quickly and efficiently.

Must possess ability to follow directions and learn.

Must possess the ability to use power tools.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry lengths of pipe.

Must possess mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Lighting is both natural and artificial. Equipment used includes power tools, torch, broom, shovel, forklift and other equipment as required. Physical demands include walking, standing, bending over, kneeling, climbing a ladder, repetitive use of hands, grasping, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs. Hours and days are Monday through Friday with occasional weekends or overtime required. Position requires close contact with other employees.

PLUMBER FOREMAN

DEPARTMENT: Plumbing

About The Position:

The Plumber Foreman will be responsible for all phases of plumbing including reading plans, reviewing layouts, drilling, cutting, and installing pipe and fixtures in new residential plumbing sites as well as overseeing a plumbing crew on 1-2 job sites. They will oversee crew, teach plumbing to other plumbing staff, perform all phases of plumbing tasks for the installation for water, waste and gas, and ensure the clean-up of job sites each day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Run crew(s) on new residential plumbing job sites. Oversee and perform plumbing duties in the installation of new residential plumbing.

Oversee the preparation of plumbing material.

Oversee the plumbing crew in the drilling, cutting, layout and installation of pipe and fixtures according to plans.

Perform plumbing tasks as required to ensure work is completed according to building schedule.

Read plumbing plans and layouts and bring any issues to the attention of the Supervisor.

Meet with Builder Superintendent as needed to discuss building schedule.

Oversee the work of plumbing staff on assigned crew. Give direction to staff based on work to be completed.

Train plumbing staff on all phases of plumbing as dictated by each individual's skill set.

Ensure work sites are cleaned up daily. Responsible for the safety of each job site under Foreman's supervision.

Other duties as assigned by Plumbing Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must possess five years prior residential installation plumbing experience.

Must possess the prior experience and demonstrate proficiency in all three phases of plumbing; water, waste or gas.

Must be able to read and understand plumbing plans and layouts.

Prior experience in supervising plumbing staff required. Ability to teach and train plumbing staff required.

Must be able to communicate verbally in English. Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.

Must have valid California Driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites around the Bay Area.

Must be self-motivated and able to work quickly and efficiently.
