Position Summary:

Supervises team of assemblers, including training, coaching, and giving feedback of overall performance. Builds wood crates using diagrams, cut sheets and power tools as a production team member to meet customer specifications for quality and on-time delivery. Responsible for logging in and out of jobs in Ops Center (ERP system) and following production schedules. Responsible for following safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

Essential Functions:

Supervises team for safe and efficient production standards

Trains and coaches other assemblers to ensure work is performed as expected for safety, quality and production deadlines.

May require technical expertise such as maintaining certifications or licenses in order to properly train team members in proper handling (forklift, driver, pallet jack, nail gun skills)

Gives feedback about performance and job expectations to ensure respectful accountability. May manage time and attendance system and team member schedules for start/stop, meal and rest periods and time-off.

Wood Crate Production

Safe use of power tools such as nail guns, staple guns, power drills, grinders and hammers to build various sized wood crates. Safe ladder use required when assembling caps of crates.

Use production software and other site-specific production line paths to tract jobs.

Bases or skids for crates may need to be assembled on the ground- requiring crouching, kneeling and require use of heavy 3.5-inch nail guns weighing up to 20 lbs.

Using adhesives to apply foam to wood crates upon crate specifications.

Specification Checks

Use tape measure to ensure the measurements match the cut sheet up to 1/8th

Able to read, interpret, find and report possible cut sheet and/or stenciling errors.

Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member

Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it.

Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.

Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.

Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment.

Marginal Functions:

Housekeeping such as sweeping and disposing of scrap foam/lumber or other miscellaneous items.

Perform other related work as assigned.

Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

At least 6 months of experience in carpentry, construction or related experience with power tools required.

Strong teamwork and communication skills to build a high performing team.

Demonstrated attention to detail, deadline-driven, continuous improvement behaviors.

Basic computer skills needed to log in and out of jobs with employee identification number.

Ability to learn new software.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Forklift experience preferred.
