Under direction of a Quality Control Manager, Dept. Lead and/or Floor Leader, responsible for routine line tests and a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests to ensure product quality. Utilizes math skills and communication ability to write formulas, document, summarize, and transmit information to appropriate supervisors and line leaders.
Current wage is $17.89 and is subject to annual increases per the labor agreement.RequirementsResponsible for the timely collection, preparation and analysis of various dried fruit and juice samples utilizing different analytical procedures and operating various types of laboratory equipment to characterize product quality. Quantifies and isolates product out of specification and follows up with proper hold procedures. Responsible for timely and effective communication of unfavorable product status to appropriate Quality Control and Production Supervisors and line leaders Accountable for accurate and timely recording of all written Quality Control records relating to quality on the production lines and in the laboratory. Performs daily sanitation inspection and advises supervisors of any situations that could jeopardize product quality. Adjusts, standardizes, calibrates, and operates laboratory equipment. Works safely with laboratory equipment and chemicals in performing routine test procedures Keeps laboratories, equipment and glassware organized and clean; keep work station clean and orderly using common cleaning equipment. Prepares and standardizes reagents and refills containers in the laboratory. Performs "cut-out" inspections of finished products from Sunsweet co-packers and generates information upon which quality review decisions are based. Checks product versus specification and records results on DCR. Checks package weights and records results on weight control sheet and scale weight report. Checks containers versus specification and records results on condition of container form. Tests and documents results of CCP tests/challenges Prepares collects and tests samples from products as directed
Must pass math skills test for Quality Control Lab Assistants.Must pass pre-employment, post-offer battery of physical and drug tests.
