Job Description

This 6 month position will manage all aspects of the 6 & under program at Buttermilk including hiring, scheduling, training and leading a staff to exceptional guest service levels.

This role typically pays around $56,971, actual pay will be dependent upon budget and experience. All of our salaried roles are eligible for bonus

Essential Job Functions Oversee a staff of 100+ ski instructors and coordinate staff training, continuing education, scheduling Provide coaching and deliver seasonal staff reviews Maintain current teaching manual Assist administrative group to with current certification cards, certification updates, payroll issues, tracking and getting required documentation Assign Ski and Snowboard lessons daily Foster appropriate teaching techniques within the Terrain Based Learning course Implement safety tips and training procedures Maintain presence on snow during operating hours Work with support staff at the Hideout including frontline reservations agents, rental, etc. Work with managers to address challenges with guests and employees Oversee class averages for ski and snowboard lessons based on guest needs Develop positive relationships with guests of the Ski School

Qualifications

Must be fluent in English Knowledge of other languages helpful, specifically Spanish College degree preferred Proficient computer skills for working in Resort Technology Partners (RTP), Microsoft products and Excel Experience working with children under the age of 6 Current PSIA/AASI or equivalent certification at Level 3 preferred

Supervision Given and ReceivedSupervision given:  Exercises general supervision over staff. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Supervision received: Works under general supervision of the Hideout Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.

Work Environment and Physical DemandsAbility to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs individually or with assistance.
