Job Description

The Director of Store Operations is responsible for the successful development, communication and execution of Four Mountain Sports rental/retail store operations. This position will lead and implement retail & rental store strategies that achieve a world-class customer experience while being responsible for attaining revenue and profitability goals.

The budgeted range for this position starts at $100,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions Proactive member of the Four Mountain Sports Rental/Retail Leadership Team engaged in leading, directing and managing shared Company initiatives, planning and reporting Demonstrated ability to work optimally within a team and be assertive in driving successful management strategies while promoting high performance standards Actively involved in all store aspects including store point-of-views / merchandising, day-to-day operations, and ensuring stores are being maintained to Four Mountain Sports standards Liaison between Four Mountain Sports and the local business community Work closely with other revenue team leaders to ensure Four Mountain Sports is aligned on employee training, guest experience initiatives, and optimizing capture of share of wallet Review financial and operational performance and recommend business shifts supported by action plans to drive sales, optimize labor and reduce operational expenses Analyze business through key metrics, customer satisfaction survey results and benchmarks while leading continuous improvement Drive and execute strategy related to stores’ sales and profitability plan to meet or exceed sales revenue to budget. Build and manage annual operating budgets Build constructive and effective relationships with cross-functional business partners to define, develop and execute merchandising, marketing and operational strategies that drive market share and growth; as well as improve store efficiencies/controls and customer experience Collaborate on the development of the strategic roadmap and long range capital planning for the Rental/Retail division Responsible for recruiting and maintaining a fully staffed retail & rental store operations department; as well as the on-going training and development of all direct reports Develop and implement store leadership on best-in-class store processes and procedures that deliver world-class customer experiences and profitability Use internal employee engagement survey data to create and maintain a departmental culture that aligns with company brand and initiatives Ability to develop, influence and effectively align a point of view to diverse audiences of all levels Research industry best practices and continuously look for innovation opportunities to elevate Four Mountain Sport’s guest experience Perform other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 10-15 years of multi-unit leadership experience with growing levels of responsibility. Ability to read, interpret, and initiate action against financial reports. Outstanding track record for building a driven organization in a growth-oriented company. Inspirational leader with the ability to form effective internal and external business partnerships that influence the business. Ability to think strategically, understand business challenges and formulate effective solutions designed to improve results. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to achieve desired results in a fast-paced, highly competitive, multi-tasking environment. Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, negotiation and resolution skills. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on sophisticated topics to leadership. Ability to conduct and analyze research related to consumers, industries, markets and competitors. Highly proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. SQL reporting a plus.

Supervision Given and Received:Supervision given: This position has no supervisory responsibilitiesSupervision received: Works under general supervision of the Managing Director of Rental Retail Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins

Work Environment and Physical DemandsAbility to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be requiredRegularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
