SummaryProvide leadership and management for all personnel for the following departments: Kitchen, Breakfast, Lounge, Bar, Catering, and Banquets.This role typically pays around range for this position is $65k midpoint, actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience and all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job FunctionsResponsible for consistently high standards and quality of food items and service.Manage and communicate effectively with culinary and restaurant managers, coaching, correcting and teaching as appropriate.Work with an inclusive management style, involving the team in decision making that will affect their roles or daily duties.Operate as a working member of the food & beverage team to provide coverage and days off for restaurant management & supervisors.Responsible for operating within budget & reaching/exceeding financial targets.Supervises and provides leadership to all staff. Acts as a senior manager within the hotel and acts as a mentor/role model to junior managers regardless of their home department.Organizes the music program for the Lounge.Responsible for design and upkeep of physical facilities.Conduct departmental and Food and Beverage meetings.Communicate with Restaurant Manager/Supervisor and Chef de Cuisine concerning quality, presentation, timing and guest comments.Conduct daily pre-meal meeting and tasting, ensuing staff’s knowledge of music program, special hotel events, food, menus, beverage, wine and service.Maintains adequate supplies by reviewing requisitions daily. Responsible for beverage inventory.Perform site inspections as needed.Works with the Sales team for all group/catering business.Ensure accuracy of requisitions and control costs.Maintain high level of guest satisfaction, makes immediate corrective action when guest’s needs are not met.Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times. Ensures staffs appearance and conduct are impeccable.Maintain beverage presentation and merchandising.Make improvements/create efficiency to/with the Point of Sale system.Plan and execute special holidays and functions.Suggest ideas for bar menu.Enforce local liquor and sanitation ordinances.Continuously updates wine list.Supervise the set up of creative, eye-appealing props, buffets and centerpieces.Establish and monitor sales incentives between service staff on a regular basis.Will have oversight of breakfast food and quality. Responsible for ordering all food and beverage items.Reviews staffing regularly. Control costs during slow periods. Schedule staff.Train staff regularly. Develop new training methods.Supervise the care of equipment, minimizing waste, breakage and misuse.Control covers and revenues. Responsible for accuracy of staffs work.Responsible for the amenity program in the hotel.Recommends applicants for hire through the interview process established in the hotel.Ensures schedules are completed and posted by Wednesday of each week for the following week. Adhere to staffing guidelines and schedule according to business levels.Handles staff corrective action, coaching and counseling adhering to the policies and procedures of the hotel. Follow progressive discipline as outlined in the supervisor’s manual.Responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of physical facilities. Reports any maintenance issues to Engineering Department.Holds monthly staff meetings to provide open forum of communication, information about the hotel and parent company and continued training. Seek out staff opinions and recommendations for improvement.Assist with conceptualization and marketing of special events throughout the year.Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management and the established emergency plan.Assist in controlling food and beverage costs.Oversee monthly beer, wine and liquor inventoriesHandle payroll and administrative duties, including PAF’s, employee performance evaluations, separation reports, etc. in a timely manner.Field guest challenges and conduct thorough research to develop the most effective solution(s) for the guest and hotelCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear and consistent direction to the staffEnsure that employees are trained in accordance with hotel and ASC guidelines and standards, testing for accuracy and understanding at each step of the training process.Cross train employees as needed to ensure plans are in place for peak business periods.

Qualifications

College degree preferred.Ability to multi task and prioritizeCompetent with computer programs such as Microsoft Office.Language SkillsExcellent written and spoken English

Working ConditionsIndoors v Outdoors - Indoors 95% of the time, Outdoors 5% of the time.Standing v Sitting - Standing 100% of the timeWork Environment -Working as part of a team; working AM, PM. Working holidays. Overtime may be required due to business need.The kitchen environment is one that can be hot or cold, floors can be slippery, and some areas poorly ventilated. General working conditions may at times be intense and stressful.

Physical RequirementsAbility to lift 40lbs and push/pull & carry and other items up to 100lbs.Constant reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing (near, far, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision). Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, tasting, smelling. Dealing with noise of lobby area as well as phones.
