Description SAIC in support of our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team has an immediate need for a Capability Integration Engineer with mission integration or operational experience in Department of Defense (DoD) satellite ground systems with emphasis in operational employment, training, and life-cycle support. Candidate will support acquisition management and integration activities to include technical baseline development and management, operational employment of space-based capabilities, training, and system bed down. Candidate should have experience with employment of operational space systems, acquisition management support, system survivability, and lifecycle support for space and ground systems. Candidate will be responsible for the integration and bed-down support for survivable and endurable satellite ground segments to ensure effective capability development as well as on-time delivery of warfighting capability to United States Space Force. Major duties of the position include:
  • Defining operational employment requirements and related implementation concepts and plans
  • Managing survivable satellite ground systems development
  • Establishing requirements and program planning efforts for space system training programs and training systems procurement
  • Identifying system requirements and procedures to support survivability standards for U.S. Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Systems
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop, review, and release specifications and technical documents to field next-generation MW systems
  • Coordinating with Combatant Commands, the Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center (NEC), Space Operations Command (SpOC), and Space Systems Command (SSC) to develop program baselines for NC3 systems
  • Contributing to a value-driven Systems Engineering team that drives design evolution and integrates it into warfighting systems in a systematic and thoughtful way
  • Identifying requirements for and coordinating development of technical orders, training programs, and training systems supporting missile warning and NUDET detection
Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and four (4) years of systems integration/systems engineering or equivalent experience or Master's degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and two (2) years of systems integration, systems engineering, logistics, training or related or equivalent experience
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Experience in operating and/or maintaining satellite ground systems
  • Space system training program development and training system procurement
  • Experience in developing systems engineering documents and artifacts in a team environment
  • Experience in organizing, writing, and delivering technical documents and briefings
Desired Qualifications:
  • Direct experience with DoD and/or NRO space and ground systems
  • Direct experience with SBIRS and/or OPIR Next Generation System
  • Experience in establishing or maintaining support agreements between large organizations (especially Government entities)
  • Experience with engineering, development, or operation of the United States Nuclear Detonation Detection System (USNDS)
  • Experience with integrated life cycle management of DoD systems
  • Familiarity with survivable and endurable systems and knowledge of survivability and testing standards for NC3 systems
  • Experience working in an Agile team/framework
Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
