Description SAIC is seeking a Flight Operations Division Spacecraft Systems Engineer with experience and understanding of core spacecraft vehicle, payload, and ground systems engineering and analysis. This work is performed in the Aurora, CO area. TS/SCI with poly is required. Targeted salary is 100,001-120,00k . Responsibilities include:
  • Represent the Flight Operations Division in the execution of spacecraft integration, test, launch, and on-orbit operations.
  • Conduct anomaly support, launch and mission readiness, and end to end space systems architecture analysis.
  • Maintain close communications with the program acquisition office and customer engineering organizations providing recommendations on risk level of spacecraft activities.
  • Oversee day to day execution of operations and processes to ensure proper attention to health, safety, and effective use of national resources.
  • Provide launch and mission readiness subject matter expertise to operations and engineering including readiness for launch, spacecraft initialization, and transition to mission.
Qualifications Required:
  • US Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or relevant field and five (5) years or more experience; Master's Degree in STEM or relevant field and three (3) years or more experience
  • Experience in spacecraft, payload, and launch vehicle engineering as well as mission readiness process, control gates, and associated entry/exit criteria.
  • SIGINT systems engineering expertise, and significant space and ground systems domain knowledge
  • Technical familiarity with SIGINT system's payloads, subsystems, and technical capabilities
  • Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics
  • Polished communicator (written/verbal); impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgement
Desired:
  • Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft operator or spacecraft engineer, familiar with space operations/policies

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
