Preschool Assistant Teacher

BCD preschool assistant teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Homeroom assistant teacher in BCDs preschool division;
Provide a stimulating, creative and an appropriately challenged or appropriately differentiated educational environment, including opportunities for children to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
Use best practices regarding student-centered instruction, collaboration, and authentic assessment;
Participate in ongoing training in literacy, differentiation, and other appropriate topics;
Provide regular and thorough communication to all BCD constituencies (students, parents, and colleagues);
Support enrollment and retention by assisting with tours, events, and other school outreach; and
Perform other duties as directed by the Head of School.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
Demonstrated passion for teaching elementary school children;
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education is preferred. However, coursework in early childhood education or child development in combination with verifiable experience working with children is also acceptable. Applicants must meet appropriate Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) requirements/qualifications and provide all documentation as required by the State of Colorados Department of Early Learning. Applicants using experience (in combination with education) to qualify must have a minimum of three (3) months verifiable full time or equivalent part-time experience working with children in a similar setting.
Experience teaching in an early childhood setting;
Knowledge of or background in independent schools;
Ability to differentiate within each class;
Flexibility, ability to work with change, and strengths in innovation; and
Effective communication skills.
