<div itemprop="description" class="jobDetailDescription accordionpanelpusher"><div><div>The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) encourages applications for a Professional Research Assistant to work with NIST researchers to develop laboratory-based test methods for state-of-the-art and future wireless communication systems. The work will focus on calibrations, uncertainty analyses and best practices related to over-the-air measurements of systems that utilize complex modulated signals. Master’s Level: With NIST staff, develop advanced analysis techniques and interpretation of measurement results. Post Doc Level: Apply advanced statistical techniques for analysis and interpretation of measurement results, including correlations between measured data. </div></div></div>

<div itemprop="description" class="jobDetailDescription accordionpanelpusher"><div><div>The Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder. PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists.</div><div><br></div><div>The particular group that needs a researcher is the Shared Spectrum Metrology Group in the RF Technology Division at NIST.</div></div></div>

<div itemprop="description" class="jobDetailDescription accordionpanelpusher"><div><ul><li>Develop and apply improved measurement techniques for rapid, accurate testing of wireless devices in highly reflective, spatially diverse environments. </li><li>Work as a team to apply and extend statistical analysis methods and uncertainty techniques for correlated measurement data. </li><li>Disseminate research and best practices to the internet-of-things and wireless- telecommunications industries through publications, direct interactions with partners and consensus standards bodies as appropriate. </li><li>Work collaboratively with researchers inside and outside of NIST.</li></ul></div></div>

<div itemprop="description" class="jobDetailDescription accordionpanelpusher"><div><ul><li>Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Communications, or related field.</li><li>Experience with electrical measurement instrumentation such as arbitrary waveform generators, network analyzers, and digitizers.</li><li>Ability to code with, or learn to code with, Matlab, LabView, Python.</li><li>PhD Level: Experience with statistical analysis of measured data, such as the computation of uncertainty.</li><li><u>PhD Level</u>: Past publication of technical research.</li></ul></div></div>
