Zeal is a renowned dining establishment known for its innovative cuisine and delicious scratch to table food. As the owner and manager, I am looking for a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. This is not just a job; it's an opportunity to grow and eventually lead our kitchen as the Head Chef (also my current role).

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef who is ready to step into a leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills, and a desire to contribute to and elevate our culinary offerings. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow into the Head Chef position.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and lead by example with superb cooking and plating of food, flawless execution of sauces and food prep, and an organized approach to culinary operations.

Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.

Develop and implement creative menu items that align with our brand and customer preferences.

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity.

Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.

Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.

Step into the Head Chef role as needed, demonstrating leadership and decision-making skills.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant.

Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.

Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for culinary arts and a desire to innovate.

Experience with inventory management and cost control.
