Facilities Management Campus Building Services encourages applications for a Custodian Supervisor! This division cleans and sanitizes the academic, administrative and research facilities on the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) campus. Buildings are split up into teams and each team consists of a supervisor, lead worker, and front-line staff.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Building and Equipment Maintenance:
Meet with building users and maintenance personnel regarding custodial activities and building repairs.
Order and distribute cleaning supplies, materials and equipment.
Schedule equipment for repairs.
Respond to customer requests/concerns.
Staffing:
Plan, assign, coordinate, inspect and review custodial routine cleaning activities.
Assign cleaning tasks to custodial staff and inspect their work.
Ensure adequate staffing and equipment is provided in response to emergency custodial operations daily.
Provide custodial supervisory support for campus special events.
Perform cleaning duties when front-line staff are out for long periods.
Training:
Prepare ongoing continued education and training opportunities for employees.
Conduct safety and operational training with custodial staff.
Time Keeping:
Compile and complete time sheets for customer billing and keep track of weekly timesheets for employees to review.
Approve employee requests for time off and adjust work schedules to ensure that program standards are met.
Performance Management:
Prepare and review yearly performance management plans with employees.
Conduct mentoring sessions with employees.
Prepare documentation for verbal, corrective and/or disciplinary actions, and recommend type of action.
Meet and review with the status of team activities with the manager. Prepare and conduct program presentations to management group.
What You Should Know
The shift for this position is Monday - Thursday from 3:15 pm to 11:45 pm and Friday from 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm.

What We Require
Two years of custodial or laundry experience appropriate to the work assignment.
Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license.
What You Will Need
Customer service skills.
Ability to complete work thoroughly and efficiently.
Organizational skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
What We Would Like You To Have
One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience of custodial cleaning and team cleaning, carpet shampooing and extraction, stripping and waxing floors, and sealing floors.
Working knowledge of computers (to enter time records, write emails to customers and managers, and assign work orders).
