Nursery Workers perform essential duties to keep plants healthy and happy. :) Workers will maintain the quality and vitality of our plants throughout their entire life-cycle from plant propagation, planting, plant care, and harvest. We specialize in seed production and are looking for someone long-term to grow with our company. Supervisor posistions are a possibility.
Primary Responsibilities
Care for plants as directed including watering, pruning, repotting, and etc.
Take plant cuttings and plant seeds
Meticulously label all plants correctly
Accurately calculate and measure nutrients; record using the proper documentation
Clean and sanitize containers, equipment, and rooms (sweep, mop, and scrub equipment)
Must complete pesticide applicators training and assist manager with IPM treatments
Have a high attention to detail and accuracy
Maintains a positive, professional attitude towards work and co-workers.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in all indoor and outdoor field conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and occasional extreme hot/cold temperatures.
Must be shaven enough to wear a full-face respirator
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Walk and stand on feet for eight+ hours per day on concrete floor, moving and bending under trays.
Qualifications
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
High school diploma or 2-year degree prefered
Able to work 10-12-hour work days as required
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
