Golden West, a not for profit senior housing community, is searching for a reliable, quick-thinking, mature individual for our After Hours Responder position. Golden West provides affordable quality housing and services for individuals aged 62 and older.
Open Shifts are Monday 3 pm - 8 pm
The After Hours Responder position is responsible for:
Answering phones
Greeting visitors
Answering resident questions
Responding to resident and building emergencies
Golden West is not a medical facility so the emergency response consists of assessing the situation and helping the resident decide what kind of assistance is needed. If it is a medical emergency, staff will call 911. If it's not a medical emergency then staff might help the resident contact their family, outside caregiver or physician. The After Hours Responder position also responds to building emergencies by assessing the situation and if it's a minor issue (plugged toilet, tripped breaker) takes care of it and for major issues contacts the on-call maintenance staff.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for older adults, the ability to remain calm during emergencies, have excellent communication and customer service skills and experience with multi-line phone systems. The position is a physically active position and candidates must be able to sit for at least an hour at a time, stand for at least an hour at a time, be able to move swiftly throughout the entire community including going up and down stairs.
