Solo-based immigration law firm located in Lafayette CO and is looking for a full time paralegal with immigration experience. Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required. Experience with immigration law preferred.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, thorough, adept to technology, organized, have excellent writing and oral communication skills. Tasks can vary but include: communicating by phone and email with clients, gather and review documents and facts for preparation of forms and applications; inputting data into immigration forms, drafting letters, and compile filings for review by attorneys and for submission to government agencies and the immigration court; interviewing clients to prepare client affidavits in support of applications; using software programs such as LawLogix, Word 2013, Excel, Adobe Reader and Pro, and Outlook 2013. Also may include some legal assistant needs such as putting applications together, scanning, typing, copying and mailing out applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational degree
1 year of paralegal/legal assistant experience required
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel 2013, Adobe Acrobat Pro
Spanish speaking preferred
The ideal candidate will be an independent, self-starter who also works well within a group setting. Applicants must possess excellent organizational and time-management skills; be detail-oriented; work under deadlines and be able to balance multiple tasks.
