Contract position open for virtual administrative support / paralegal at a burgeoning law practice. May develop into an employee-employer relationship based upon performance.

We are a progressive and growing boutique firm focusing on Federal Tax (U.S. Tax Court) and U.S. Immigration. Our firm is client-centered. We prefer to work with action-oriented, passionate, out-of-the-box thinkers to join our team.

If you possess a tax and federal practice background, are highly organized with the ability to support an attorney in a busy, fast-paced office with legal research, drafting and overall administrative support wearing many hats and working immigration cases and U.S. Tax Court litigation, we invite you to apply for our current opening as a Contract Administrative Support / Paralegal.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepares and transmits legal documents such as briefs, financials, pleadings, appeals, agreements, authorizations, verifications, mortgages, notes and other pertinent documents as assigned.

Investigate facts and public records as needed.

Speaking on phone with government authorities, clients, and third parties.

Follows up on requests (financials, applications to government, appeals, pleadings and other requests) with Courts, agencies and other institutions.

Regular and frequent telephone and electronic communication with courts, administrative offices, financial institutions clients, attorneys.

Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling and calendaring deadlines and hearings, drafting correspondence, preparing, reading and routing incoming mail and faxes.

Creates and maintains virtual document file.

Ensures proper indexing and filing of original and electronic legal documents.

File documents with courts and administrative bodies, according to rules and guidelines, including electronic filing where applicable.

Assist the firm owner with many facets of bring the firm up to speed.

High level of organization, including maintaining shared office calendars and individual attorney calendars as well as proactively providing reminders to legal team of upcoming deadlines.

Creative and Proactive

Strong typing skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat; Familiarity with U.S. Tax Code a plus.

Willingness to learn and optimize use of legal CRM software CLIO.

A bachelors degree and one (1) years of related experience and/or training are preferred.
