JOB SUMMARY:
We are a locally owned, family business looking for a bicycle sales associate and bicycle mechanic. Your schedule may include Saturdays. We are looking for team players that are excited to grow with our company. The vibe in our shop is playful and hip, while maintaining a professional & elevated retail experience.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
- We are an energetic team, ready to roll up our sleeves, lend a hand to our colleagues, and do what's necessary to get the job done. 100% all the time. You must be a team player, but also able to work independently.
- Thoroughly listening to the needs and desires of our customers is key; educating customers in a kind and patient manner is a must.
- Educating our customers about products and services while building and managing long-term relationships is an important role in our shop. You must enjoy educating others and building relationships.
- A love for cycling and an in-depth knowledge of the sport is expected of LBC employees. If you consider yourself a bike enthusiast and are you comfortable sharing your enthusiasm with all people whether they are more or less knowledgeable than you, you could be a good fit at LBC.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES (Bicycle Mechanic)
- Passion, know-how, and dedication are key elements to this position. Being passionate about building relationships with our customers & recognizing this makes for an overall superior experience is key for success in this position.
- You must be dedicated to offering excellent customer service, in addition to excellent repair service.
- You will greet customers, diagnose service, determine components needed & quote repairs. We are looking for employees that care as much as we do about these details - both in customer service and the actual work performed.
- Whether wrenching on mountain, road, or kids bikes, thoroughness, care, and meticulous attention to detail is required to ensure every bike performs at its peak.
- Educating & inspiring cyclists with relatable knowledge that meets them at their skill level is a must.
- You will need to be a team player and a quick learner; someone thats comfortable working closely with other employees and is excited about elevating the retail experience and fostering a community minded bike shop environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES (Bicycle Sales Associate)
- You will greet customers and drive the sale of bicycles and related components and accessories, while consistently providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor.
- You will educated and inspire cycling enthusiasts as well as new riders with relatable knowledge that meets them at their skill level.
- You will help with bicycle intake in the service department for maintenance and service that is needed on bicycles that clients bring into the shop.
- You will need to be a team player and a quick learner; someone thats comfortable working closely with other employees and is excited about elevating the retail experience and fostering a community minded shopping environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Experience with current road and mountain bike technology & able to keep up-to-date on all technology.
- Superb customer service skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment & able to accommodate multiple customers.
- Minimum of 2-3 years bicycle experience, depending on position.
- Available to work weekdays & some Saturdays & able to lift 50 lbs.
- Willing & able to cross over from service to sales when needed without issues.
- Prior retail experience & knowledge of Ascend POS is a huge plus
Job Type: Part-time positions available; Possible Full-time
Salary: $12.00-$18.00/hour, depending on position & experience
