Description
Solid Power, Inc. is seeking a technician to support our production team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative and innovative team environment. This position is contract-to-hire with an initial temp term of 3-6 months.
The preferred candidate will have experience in a laboratory setting, cleaning production equipment of various scales, handling hazardous materials, reading MSDS, and operating or servicing equipment according to standard procedures.
Job Duties
Under direction of senior staff, keep lab area and equipment clean and functional between production or R&D runs.
Perform equipment tear-down, cleaning, and set up for routine production runs.
Assist with maintenance and calibration for equipment as directed.
Assist in the assembly, operation, and maintenance of new and existing laboratory equipment.
Maintain HazMat or other job-specific training as applicable.
Contribute toward the development of standard cleaning and operating procedures and improved general practices.
Qualifications/Requirements
Coursework (or equivalent experience) in a technical or related field, such as chemistry or hazardous materials training and 2+ years of experience in a lab or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of industry safety and reliability standards
Flexible attitude and comfortable in a fast-paced start-up environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience working with hazardous materials
Experience working with laboratory equipment related to material science and wet-chemistry processing, such as glove-boxes, vacuum pumps, milling equipment, mixers/mixing vessels, common lab glassware, and/or various analytical tools is desired.
The candidate must be responsible and self-motivated, with a history of stable employment and performance
The candidate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency required
