Experienced Bicycle Mechanic Wanted

Our team at Bike Works, located in Kailua Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii, is seeking a skilled and experienced Bicycle Mechanic. A minimum of 2 years bike mechanic experience is required, 4 years is preferred. We are seeking a team player who demonstrates excellent communication skills with the ability to develop relationships with customers and coworkers. Applicants should possess the ability to problem solve, have great attention to detail skills and the ability to maintain a safe, clean and fun environment for employees and customers. We are a lifestyle shop and encourage our staff to lead active and adventurous lives outside of work, this is easy to do as we have the opportunity to explore 11 of the 13 different climates of the world on the Big Island alone! Not to mention beautiful beach bike camping, and epic mountain climbs such as Mauna Kea summit; our island offers plenty of good road riding, and mountain biking too, with our store owners being outdoor enthusiasts themselves. In addition to the IRONMAN World Championships, there are other premier triathlon races here such as the IRONMAN 70.3 Hawai'i Event, the very large local Lavaman Triathlon, multiple running races, open ocean swim races and cycling races. In addition to these events, we also offer the opportunity to work on a full spectrum of bicycles from department store to pro racers bikes. Position Overview:
The bicycle mechanic position is responsible for completing work tickets for customer bicycles in a safe and efficient manner. This is accomplished by the timely and effective execution of all the variables related to checking in bikes, repairing, and providing a positive repair experience built upon quality products, repair work and excellent customer service. The mechanic will work in conjunction with the entire service team to ensure customer satisfaction and service center profitability.
Job Type: Hourly pay commensurate with experience, Full-time, eligible for benefits (details apply), employee housing provided for first 30 days during a working interview.
