Shift Availability: Full time

The Breckenridge Resort Security Officer regularly patrols all resort properties in order to mitigate Security, Fire, and Life Safety situations. The successful candidate will possess excellent judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills and will thrive working individually or as part of a diverse team. Resort Security officers work closely with police, fire, and medical agencies during investigations, prevention efforts, and training.Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Maintains a daily log of all activities throughout the shift.

Responds to all active fires and alarms in the Breckenridge Resort & Hospitality areas and assists the Red White & Blue Fire Protection District as needed.

Responds to all emergency and security situations in the Breckenridge Resort & Hospitality areas and works with appropriate law enforcement agencies to resolve problems.

Responds to medical emergencies to assist Ski Patrol or Ambulance services as needed.

Performs guest and employee services such as vehicle lockouts, opening doors, and guest assist rides when needed.

Performs foot, vehicle, and mountain bike patrols throughout all Breckenridge hospitality and mountain division areas and reports on unsafe conditions, fire hazards, and security issues.

Conducts investigations concerning all vehicle accidents, guest injuries, thefts, suspicious incidents, fraudulent pass use, employee misconduct, fires, medical emergencies, etc. on Breckenridge Resort & Hospitality properties.

Must be able to accurately investigate, write, and input reports into electronic report writing systems.

Coordinates efforts with outside agencies such as Breckenridge Police, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Summit County Ambulance Service, Red White & Blue Fire Protection District, Breckenridge Police Department, and the Colorado State Patrol.

Performs routine maintenance and upkeep of department vehicles and equipment.

Works event security when needed and available.

Maintains key and access control of One Ski Hill Place, Crystal Peak Lodge, Village at Breckenridge, Mountain Thunder Lodge, River Mountain Lodge, Mountain Administration Building and the Mountain road access gates.

Performs pedestrian and vehicle traffic control throughout the resort as needed.

Perform call-taking, dispatcher and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Valid driver’s license - required.

Must have knowledge of and experience dealing with emergencies.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain – EMT or higher certification strongly preferred.

Ability to work on your feet for up to 10 hours in a high-altitude mountain environment in inclement weather.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

At least 2 years of security experience – preferred.

At least 2 years hospitality guest service experience in a resort setting – preferred.

Professional writing experience – preferred.

Strong communication skills with a variety of staff and guests.
