Senior Storage EngineerTIAA is seeking a Sr. Storage Engineer for their Charlotte, NC, Iselin, NJ, Denver/Broomfield, CO or Chicago, IL office. This role will have accountability for all architecture, engineering and infrastructure operations for our core technology assets as part of a streamlined, strategic approach that ensures low cost, high quality delivery from initial architectural decisions through engineering to long-term operational support. This role will collaborate closely with our business-aligned partners in technology and with key stakeholders across the enterprise. The Storage Engineer will be part of an infrastructure team that is transforming the physical environment towards a cloud environment that leverages AWS and other cloud platforms.Key Responsibilities and Duties

Plan, design and implement new products in storage area for on premise and cloud environment.

Transform the physical environment towards a cloud environment that leverages AWS and other cloud platforms.

Involved hands on designing and writing code to evaluate storage performance and simulate synthetic use case specific workloads.

Provide escalation for the Enterprise SAN and SAN arrays; network attached storage (NAS), and Object storage technology in a mission critical business environment.

Collaborate with various vendors to maintain equipment including firmware, service packs, security patches, etc. to ensure the maximum performance, security and availability of systems.

Develop and maintain custom scripts and stored procedures to automate repetitive tasks and improve consistency in operations and maintenance activities.

Meets with customers to understand requirements and designs solutions to meet requirements.

Delivers automation that improves efficiency.

Manage, retain and grow enterprise relationships.

Creates Documentation Library and Runbook procedures for Level 1 and 2 operations to follow.

Define and promote standards, guidelines and policies for the utilization and integration of technology.

Define key performance indicators and thresholds for storage systems.

Identify strategic initiatives and plans to improve KPIs’ for core services.

Develop technical partnerships with key support, architecture, and operations teams.

Coordinate with operations team to act as an escalation point for all Tier 3 escalations.

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Information Technology with an emphasis in enterprise storage solutions

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in storage network technologies (ex. SAN, NAS, NFS, CIFS or object storage)

Minimum of 2+ years of experience with Data Governance softwares

2 or more years of NetApp NAS experience

Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell

Preferred:

Capable of doing on-call rotation for storage network escalation

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related discipline

Familiar with Cloud Computing such as AWS, Azure or Google

Experience with private VMware cloud storage and container technology such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with storage automation

Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet

Base Pay Range: $90,800/yr. - $151,300/yr.Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
