The PowerView Automation team is working on a dynamic/emerging motorization capability for the window coverings business and is the fastest-growing segment of the company. As Tech Lead you will be responsible for managing technical aspects of software development while leading the PowerView Automation IoT Gateway and Cloud Services teams. This role has high interaction with product marketing, R&D, architects, IoT platform development, mobile development, firmware development, IT, and quality assurance. You will largely influence the direction of and have an immediate impact on the business.

Job descriptionLead software architecture, development, and deployment of the PowerView Automation IoT Gateway and Cloud Services applications. Provide a strong technical vision, establish policies, mentor others, resolve technical disagreements and manage the technical quality of team deliverables. Use industry best practices, be hands-on, invest in continual improvements and ensure that the system evolves to meet changing market needs and deployment environments. Deliver to market a top-tier experience that seamlessly integrates into the home and sets the standard for mobile operation of automated window coverings.

Acceptable training and experience 10+ years of job experience in an area related to software engineering required.

Qualifications for employment:

Expert knowledge of NodeJS and TypeScript

Expert knowledge of Google cloud development and data storage solutions

Proven Ability to deliver IoT and cloud applications using reusable, testable, and efficient code

Proficient in C and Linux administration (systemd, udev services, bash scripting, security hardening)

Familiarity with Mender, Yocto Linux, Bitbake, Docker, U-boot, BSP development, Kernel configuration

Familiarity with Alexa and Google skill development

Experience with wireless systems, including Bluetooth and WiFi

Experience with mDNS, Bonjour, DHCP, FTP, SSH, routing & switching, multicast, etc.

Solid Knowledge of Agile development methodology

Solid Knowledge of Git version control

Anticipated pay range for this role depending on experience: $140,000 - $188,800 plus annual bonus.
