- As a Software Engineer you are responsible for developing new software products, implementing modern software design principles and concepts, resolving complex technical software problems, and providing solutions which are innovative and ingenious.
- You will work with a highly collaborative team in an Agile environment embracing a "fail-fast" mentality (fail fast, fail often, react quickly and learn from every failure). You will engage with Product Owners, Technology Architects, QA and/or Automation team members on cross-functional activities to design, develop, and test software solutions. You will be expected to understand, implement, and explain technical concepts to those around you.
- In this position, you will act as a hands-on senior developer to deliver operational and enabling capabilities to meet requirements for a hard real-time simulation used to test Flight Computer software.
- You will be responsible for authoring system and detailed requirements, software implementation, integration, and unit and system level testing in support of flight products, interfacing with users, troubleshooting, and supporting cyber security upgrades in the laboratories. The position will hold technical leadership within the team and may evolve to include responsibilities such as Product Ownership or project leadership within Software Engineering.
- Experience leading teams or projects
- Experience with C/C and Python programming
- Experience with Object Oriented Design
- Experience with UML
- Experience with Unix-based operating systems
- Experience with Real Time Operating Systems
- Experience with debugging complex software systems
- Experience with Atlassian products
- Experience with software configuration management practices and tools such as Git (preferred), SVN, or comparable CM system
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire to develop deep understanding of complex systems
