Our client, an electronic trading platform, is seeking a Systems Engineering Support
Location: Centennial, CO Position Type: Contract Job Summary: The Application Support candidate assists with multi-tier support to internal and external clients in both production and test environments, utilizing a suite of proprietary and SaaS applications. Essential Functions:- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves application or system problems that are time sensitive
- Determine effective solutions for undesirable system behaviors and usability problems including trade, application or system issues that may be time sensitive. Research may require collaboration with Programmers, System Architects, Product Managers, SMEs, System Administrators and others.
- Monitor minor and critical system errors and Access Violation notifications, restricting unauthorized use of the production environment and resolving errors or managing tasks and two-way communication through resolution.
- Queries databases for specific requested information, providing ad-hoc and/or recurring results of current system data
- Build support tools as needed, to query databases for frequently requested information or ensure consistency with performing a wide range of client requests that occur regularly.
- Must be able to troubleshoot technical and non-technical issues.
- Must be able to design and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets and Word documents using advanced functionality.
- Experience using the English Query language and/or SQL is required including the knowledge to create complex queries.
- Understanding the relationship between frontend and backend environments is necessary, including the data flow process and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of mobile platforms and familiarity with the limitations of web and mobile. Functional knowledge of Scripting, XML, VI or other source editors.
- Associate degree or equivalent college coursework required, or a minimum 2 year relevant experience in the financial industry including industry business rules, process and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of the software development life cycle and intermediate level knowledge of Excel and Word is required.
- The ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, often in less than ideal circumstances.
- Must be able to juggle tasks and priorities.

- Must possess the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks appropriately.
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
