Job Title: Enterprise Infrastructure Chief Engineer/Configuration Management Engineer (Cloud Engineer L3)- 3691

Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is looking to immediately fill the Cloud Engineer L3 position. This individual will work within a cohesive team environment and is responsible for strategic and effective planning, initiating, and managing complex projects. This individual ensures that technical demands and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, customers, and partners. The Enterprise Infrastructure Chief Engineer/Configuration Management Engineer will help lead our engineering team to optimize, implement, and maintain our organization's cloud-based systems. This person will be responsible for deploying and debugging systems, as well as executing new cloud initiatives. Additionally, the member will work with different cyber professionals and teams to ensure our cloud computing systems meet the needs of our organization and customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned):

  • Assess current or future customer needs and priorities through communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or others
  • Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
  • Modifying and improving existing systems
  • Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives
  • Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems
  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices
  • Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
  • Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements
  • Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs
  • Travel to support program management teams to industry and/or government locations and organizations
  • Other duties as assigned

    Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferable technical focused and/or relevant job experience
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Cloud Engineer
  • Azure, AWS, and/or GCP certifications preferred

    Skills / Experience Required
  • Minimum of 10 years Department of Defense experience working in space and/or cyber operations
  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership to help ensure mission success
  • Knowledge of information technology (IT) acquisition/procurement requirements.
  • Knowledge of service management concepts for networks and related standards (e.g., Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong self-starter requiring no supervision
  • Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature
  • Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals

    Security Clearance Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense (DoD) active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

    Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and may include lifting thirty (30) pounds, as necessary.
