Space Enterprise and Warfighting Division, Space Operations organization is seeking a Senior Project Leader to provide leadership and direction for Aerospace's support to the Headquarters United States Space Command (USSPACECOM). The successful candidate will lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams comprised of Aerospace, other FFRDC/lab, and SETA contractor partners across multiple locations to deliver world-class analytical results for a demand set of government partners.

This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO and requires 100% onsite work in the office, in classified facilities. Periodic travel is required.

What You'll be Doing

The successful candidate will serve as technical study lead primarily in support of the USSPACECOM Technical Analysis Group, as well as other tasks, with direct support to USSPACECOM senior leadership. They will need to bring a combatant command warfighting mentality to lead, direct, and collaborate with diverse internal Aerospace teams, and occasionally external partners, to ensure sound analytic rigor and technical insight is effectively used to answer senior USSPACECOM leadership questions.
  • Integration of Aerospace knowledge and analysis to provide responsive recommendations to the customer for multiple, diverse on-going technical efforts with prime consideration of USSPACECOM combatant commander responsibilities
  • Integrate and leverage all aspects/functions/capability of the Aerospace Corporation in executing the USSPACECOM Technical Analysis Group sponsored studies through virtual teaming, backplane engagement, ETG matrix, etc
  • Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of space control, SDA, BMC2, SATCOM, and other space mission areas
  • Establish, lead and mentor high-performing ETG teams across multiple geographic locations
  • Provide periodic execution reviews to Aerospace and customer senior management
  • Assist with anticipating the customer needs and create an agile, matrixed work force that can respond efficiently
  • Provide accountable management of the business activities for individual projects (budgets, schedule, facilities, security, secure data processing and secure communications, etc.)

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements :
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or other technical sciences from a recognized institution.
  • A strong technical background and experience in operations, systems engineering, testing, fielding and operations from a range of perspectives and domains
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in system acquisition, development, operations, and/or program management.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership ability, with good interpersonal communication and briefing skills along with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with high level government, Aerospace, and contractor personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using verbal presentations and written reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work across organizations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to mobilize personnel and influence decision makers
  • Ability to lead multiple programs and/or activities simultaneously and to be comfortable serving as a point-of-contact.
  • Ability to work in the office, this position is not compatible with telecommuting
  • This position requires an active Top-Secret clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with SAP/SAR accesses. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of the following
  • Graduate degree in engineering, physics, or other technical sciences from a recognized institution
  • Current knowledge of Space Control system technologies, capabilities, acquisition, and an understanding of space and ground systems development.
  • Experience leveraging matrixed employees to provide expertise for space systems development
  • Demonstrated success in directly interfacing with senior government leadership of varying backgrounds
  • Extensive experience with one or more space system development program offices
  • Experience working with the USSPACECOM, Space Security and Defense Program, US Space Force, and NRO customers
  • Knowledge of man-made threats to space systems
  • Current Special Access Program (SAP) accesses

Grade-Based Pay Range

(Min - Mid - Max)$172,000 - $191,000 - $210,000
