SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONPRCA is seeking a dynamic, creative, and innovative Software Development professional to lead and evolve the PRCA application environment. This position is responsible for overseeing multiple software development projects, while ensuring proper secure and current development practices are followed. As a leader, this individual will be reponsible to provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. Additionally, this position is tasked with ensuring day-to-day support is provided to PRCA applications and products.ESSENTIAL DUTIESIncludes the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Plan, design and develop Web and Desktop applications, using Microsoft .NET technologies, in support of assigned projects and strategic initiatives.• Collaborate with developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.• Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures – make recommendations for improvements and/or simplifications.• Manage the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.• Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.• Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and quality assurance in the testing of new software programs and applications.• Provide technical leadership to team members and programmers working on development projects.• Cultivate, disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, quality assurance and secure coding best practices.• Develop, test, and tune SQL queries to ensure data access and updates are correct, efficient, and scalable.• Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.• This is not an all-inclusive list of duties. Be a team player.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.• Analyze and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.• Maintain technical skills and knowledge of rapidly changing industry.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY• Direct management and supervision over several internal and contract software developers.QUALIFICATIONS• 8+ years of industry experience• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to speak at both user and technical levels, able to translate complex technical subjects into meaningful/relevant terms for the business, able to reliably convey information.• Demonstrated familiarity with current software development trends and practices.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.• Ability to resolve conflict and manage customer expectations.• Effective priority and task management skills.• Outstanding work ethic and a commitment to excellence.EDUCATION• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent business degree and/or equivalent work experienceCERTIFICATE AND LICENSES• None required.WORK ENVIRONMENTWorking conditions: Works in an office environment and occasionally travels for special events and conventions out of state. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, and stand. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some lifting of computers and other IT equipment may be necessary.
