In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be your responsibility. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing financial statements, cash flow projections, and budgets. Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Spreadsheets experience preferred
Update spreadsheets experience
Microsoft Excel experience desired
Proficiency in reconciliations
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to meet deadlines
Current and relevant ERP system experience
