We are looking for caretakers who are able to work with young adults who have autism. One is non-verbal, and the other has a seizure disorder that causes some behavioral challenges (some violence and outbursts on tough days; this person is a twenty-three year old male who is generally very sweet.)
We need a strong and patient male who is able to work with someone who has outbursts. We prefer to hire a strong female for the other young adult (who once in a while may be prone to outbursts as well, but typically is amicable).
There are two positions available:
1. Offer caretaking for outside activities, as a helper to Mom, & assist with errands, doctors appointments, etc.
2. Offer caretaking in home, to offer Mom respite and a chance to leave the house for errands, etc. separately.
Goodwill will be the Employer in this case: a few hours of training will be provided. Goodwill will provide support, pay for the time it takes to be trained, and possibly provide a bonus to the right person.
Interested caretakers must be calm & patient. Please only reply if you are able to look after someone who once in awhile has behavioral challenges. Most days are good days; we will offer guidance to assist a positive experience!
