Excellent opportunity to work with a well-established, software company with over 30 different products used by attorneys, business owners, consultants, and business brokers. It is the industry leader that dominates its space, including over 90% market share in one of its markets.

You will work directly for the CEO of the company (very patient, great to work with), but also side-by-side with the marketing communications manager and one of the industry's top consultants (will work as your mentor and works virtual, former VP Marketing at GE, Sr. VP Marketing at Motorola, VP Marketing at Harcourt (Neiman Marcus, Sea World, General Cinemas, Educational Publishing). He is enthusiastic and fun (but works hard)) and will train, coach, mentor and help you with everything. In the picture above in blue.

This is not a normal internship. You will do real PR and make a real contribution. The #1 requirementpassion and excitement to learn and do real PR work. No experience requiredwill train and mentor.

Regular or flexible hoursto cater to a student's at school or summer schedule. Part-time (20 to 30 hours or full-time)as available. Great while in school, but also excellent first opportunity out of college to do real Public Relations.

General Description

The PR Intern will concentrate on all aspects of PR, including:

- Learn the products and their positioning

- Help create the company's first editorial calendar

- Submit pitches to each of the specific topics identified in the calendar

- Identify and work with industry analyst, coordinate appts with the CEO of the company and coordinate story opportunities

- Scour HARO (help a reporter out) to find articles on local, regional and nation press that apply to the company's market space

- Proactively pitch stories to the press (print, online, radio, TV) nation-wide

- Help write case studies and ghost articles

- Create each of the product reviewers guides

- Submit to all reviews and manage the review process

- Online ombudsman - become the online presence for the product on Blogs and forums

Again, NO EXPERIENCE necessarybut the experience will be amazing. Past interns from this same consultant now have their own PR and Ad agencies, work for Bain & Associates, are over marketing at Red Hat, have launched #1 best-selling products (like Netscape and AOL), work at Cisco, Symantec, Apple, Motorola, Dell, etc. This is one of the most comprehensive, fast paced but exciting chances to learn and do real marketing and PRit has helped launch entire careers.

You will work side by side with the company and the consultant to setup and execute everything (and will receive samples, templates, examples, help, coaching and review for everything”we typically meet (via Skype three or more times per week and work on our deliverables in between). Some of the work is boring (like with every job), but MOST is notvery roll up your sleeves and get it done type of work that drives the brand awareness, preference and eventually spikes sales.

Knowledge & Skills

This is a marketing / PR positionnot a technical rolebut you must be very comfortable with technology, have a passion for it, and must know MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Must have EXCELLENT English writing skills (all marketing positions writeplus you will communicate with EDITORS (who are critical with grammar)), have access to a high speed internet connection (if working from homebut can work out of the office), and have own laptop/computer (with MS Office or Open Office).

A high degree of organization and self-motivation and marketing PASSION is required. This person must quickly learn the product and the market and contribute. Must be assertive to get what you need to accomplish projects.

Prefer a responsible Junior-Senior in college working on a degree with an emphasis in marketing, PR, business, communications, journalism (make some of the best PR managers), preferred since this will be applicable experience, or an MBA candidate that wants real experience (but must be very teachable (will learn a LOT of new concepts fastand then execute)).

New graduate is an option but MUST, MUST, MUST commit to a minimum of 3 months of work (don't want to train and have you leave too soon).

20 - 30hours/week or Full-Time if out of school. Regular working hours.

Pay

- $15.00/hour. Not a lot of money, but the PR experience is priceless.
