Fleet Mechanic- Goodwill Staffing- Colorado Springs CO-$18.00 to $22.00-$25.00/hour

Purpose

Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on trucks and buses in a safe, efficient, quality minded and customer focused manner.

Key Result Areas

1. Perform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns, malfunctions and emergency roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner.

Perform operation test prior to repairs to verify compliance

Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems

Follow work-flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, save and tag all warranty and core parts, document all repairs on work order using complaint, cause, and correction format, follow parts ordering/billing procedures.

Perform final operational test on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs

Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit.

3. Perform preventive maintenance on trucks such as fluid changes, lubrications, safety inspections, and brake repairs.

4. Perform preventive maintenance on off-road equipment such as lubrications, adjustments, cutting tip replacements, and safety inspections.

5. Examine vehicle to determine if any additional safety or repair work is needed.

6. Inspect, maintain and repair aerial lift equipment to maintain the safety and reliability of the unit.

7. Inspect for cracks or damage to assess needed repair

QUALIFICATIONS

-Master Mechanic in Automobile or Medium-Heavy Truck series preferred or a minimum of four certifications in either area.

-High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school certificate preferred.

-At least Four years in vehicle maintenance. Two years medium-heavy truck maintenance. Two years experience trouble shooting electrical and

mechanical problems.

-Working knowledge of diesel and gasoline engine repair, and vehicle maintenance scheduling and record keeping.

-Must possess a Colorado Drivers License and the ability to obtain a Colorado Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and must have a current medical examination card.

-Must be computer literate and able to manage scheduling and fleet maintenance software.

-Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
