Experienced copy-editor needed (Colorado Springs)

Colorado, Colorado springs 00000 Colorado springs USA

Vacancy expired!

Accomplished, experienced copy-editor needed.

We're a local nonprofit educational organization looking for a long-term part time person who lives in the Pikes Peak region and can freelance from home. The position requires the ability to lightly but thoroughly copy-edit project files that go out every couple of weeks. They are typically between 18 and 30 pages in length. The content is non-technical.

The ideal candidate needs to have strong copy-editing skills, a good sense of editorial style and be able to do light rewrites. Projects need to go out on a tight time-line so most of the work needs to be done expediently during normal business hours.

A recent version of Microsoft Word is required. Strong organizational skills are a plus.

Compensation starts at $20 per hour for the first 90 days and can go higher after that.

If interested please send your resume, a cover letter outlining relevant experience and why a longer-term part time position works for you, as well as the short assignment below.

Please heavily edit the following paragraph making it formal using the Chicago Manual of Style as your style guide and submit in a separate Microsoft Word document with the file name as follows: YourLastName.date (mmm/dd).

Guess what in a Spring time, round Apr fourteen at 9 in the afternoon at a spot further than there eyes can see it took place. Its a party; the two very best things was the people and music and lets not forget food. She enjoyed it very greatly. In spite of arriving late. She heard a lot of what was said and how people felt and what was served. That ended it. And she excepted a ride home at long last, a very sweat breathe of fresh air. They past mtns, anda very awesome story of the afternoon grew, in her noggin. But, how to remove it was very unclear, exciting and eminent. Clearly a really, really good thesauraus which made very clear the entomology of the most correct words would be commodius if only the right antonyms could be you know found. How greatthe story would be hysteric, right.

Thank you for your interest.
