Location: Denver Colorado 80202 - Hybrid work schedule, 2 days/week in office

Duration: 6+ month contract with possibility to extend

Pay: $45-$70/hour W2

JOB OVERVIEW

We are recruiting for a Data Analyst who will be assisting city agencies with data requests related to accessing data, development and enhancement of Power BI reports, improving data literacy through training and education, troubleshooting technical issues with Power BI, and other data management tasks. It is essential that this analyst has proficient experience with Power BI.

Experience in the public sector is helpful but not required. The Data Analyst must also be comfortable and experienced working with multiple levels in an organization (senior leadership to staff-level end-users). This position will be part of a team made up of other data analysts, data engineers, data architects, and GIS specialists. Collaboration and teamwork is critical. The customers requesting assistance may have varying levels of expertise and their data needs will have different levels of complexity. It is expected that the analyst will coordinate and facilitate meetings with customers to ensure their data needs are met.

Engagement Start Date & Duration, Weekly Hours, Work Location

  • The desired start date is 10/10/2022 and the engagement will be 40 hours per week, reporting to the manager of the Data & Analytics Team. The duration of the engagement is expected to be at least 6 months with the potential to extend up to 12 months.

Expected Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and communication
  • Represent Technology Services and the Data Team in a professional manner during interactions with peers and customers
  • Act as Power BI subject matter expert and address any questions or concerns with the tool
  • Use ServiceNow for workload management, task completion, work notes, and customer communication.
  • Collaborate with other data analysts, data engineers, and data architects on the team to effectively manage workload and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common technical errors related to reporting, such as data source connections, invalid credentials, gateway issues, etc.
  • Make suggestions for any processes which are lacking or present a risk and help improve them
  • Identify, recommend, and deliver recommendations which improve enterprise-wide systems
  • Follow TS best practices, including documentation, project, and change management processes

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of current, professional experience with intermediate to advanced functionality of Power BI
  • 1-3 years of experience with SQL Server databases
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite, specifically Sharepoint and Outlook
  • Experience or education with additional SaaS or cloud technologies (preferred experience with any or all of the following: AWS, Snowflake, Fivetran, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Workday, Accela)
  • Preferred but not required - exposure or familiarity with data governance or data catalog tools, such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica
  • Experience with documenting business requirements
