Job Req #: 21-02897Job Description: Data Stewardship Analyst (Asset Management)Location: Denver, CO OR REMOTEPosition Type: ContractThe Enterprise Data Management (EDM) department plays a crucial role in supporting the success of the business. We are responsible for developing and implementing a global Data Management model and Data Governance organization to support our fund management, trading, distribution, regulatory and operational areas with high quality data obtained from trusted and resilient sources.Overview of the roleThe Data Stewardship Analyst (DSA) will play a critical role within the Data Stewardship team, providing detailed analysis and support for stewarding data sets across asset management business data functions. The role will collaborate with multiple functional groups across several lines of business, to support data centric strategic goals and objectives. You will use data best practices in Master Data Management, helping to ensure that data quality and governance are front and center in data implemented on our strategic data platform. Duties and responsibilities You will:
- Work directly with data stewards, business stakeholders, and technology to provide detailed analysis in preparation of data solutions implementation
- Create and execute tactics and strategies that support seamless certification of core data sets by data owners
- Develop effective relationships with business areas, data operations, technology, and risk to oversee the delivery of data-related services to the organization
- Work directly with our data governance Platform & Insights team to ensure that data is captured in our Glossary and Catalog for clear user viewing
- Elicit Data Quality requirements from business owners, and work with the Enterprise Data Management team to bring the rules to fruition on the data governance platform
- Partner with investment teams and collaborate with Data Stewards to ensure data plans are linked and opportunities are prioritized to meet engagement and business plans
- Collaborate across the Data Stewardship team to help manage data governance communities and priorities
- Document and deploy consistent enterprise-wide data definitions, processes, and ownership
- Help define, gather, and report on key metrics related to quality of data
- Support a culture of analytics and using new technologies to support business expansion
- Must have experience in Asset Management on the Buy Side - please note: banking, insurance, broker/dealer, etc. do not meet this qualification
- Strong analytics background
- Significant operational data management experience
- Advanced experience with Excel required
- Experience with Informatica data governance tools (Axon, EDC, EDQ) is a plus
- Experience with SQL queries is a plus
- Expert on investment-related data, with the ability to fluently communicate with investment professionals to gather requirements and solve problems
- Proven track record of execution, particularly in analysis in a data-related domain
- Experience working with business, operational data and technical teams to clearly document data governance and metadata requirements
- Experienced in data governance approaches, practices and learnings in large financial organization(s)
- Experience in contributing to business requirement documentation
- Bachelor s degree in mathematics, business or finance, statistics or computer science (or similar)
