Anticipated pay range for this role depending on experience- $140,000 - $180,000 with an annual discretionary bonus.

In this role you will manage the development of embedded electronics projects as well as the embedded electronics team, to deliver high-quality motorized window coverings and accessories for customers. As the embedded electronics manager, you will have the ability to affect product focus and make an impact in this growing area of our business. You will not only manage people and projects, but you will also be a strong technical leader and will work hands-on in the development of multiple products.

About You:
  • Ownership, drive, and a strong sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated history of launching consumer products (prefer battery operated, wireless)
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • 4+ years management of electronics projects and teams
  • 5+ years of experience with development of embedded electronics
  • Competency with circuit and PCBA design for low power/battery operated devices
  • Good working knowledge of how to deliver and support high quality devices into consumer market spaces.
Job Details:
  • Manage a small team of electrical engineers and electrical technicians to architect, design, develop, deliver and support reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions for motorized window coverings and associated accessories
  • Be technical strategist, implementation expert, and design owner ensuring the highest levels of performance and quality
  • Develop and enforce procedures and standards that encompass the entire product development life cycle
  • Define and lead process development for both inter-department and intra-department processes
  • Perform work planning, break-down, assignments, and follow through to delivery
  • Work closely with product management, quality, and operations to meet product specifications and ensure robust system operation
  • Diagnose, debug, and perform root cause analysis of issues and defects and follow through to resolution
  • Develop and implement polices/procedures/instructions to ensure the successful product introduction and sustainability over 5+ year product lifetimes.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects in various lifecycle phases such as R&D, current production, and product sunset.
  • Manage component sourcing, supply chain electronics, alternate AVL approved lists, controlled in a Altium library vault for the materials teams
  • Deliver quality technical design packages in a controlled release process with a design for manufacturing techniques

Qualifications and KSA's:
  • Expert knowledge of electronic circuit design (esp. battery operated, RF devices), simulation, PCB layout, verification, and debug
  • Demonstrated Expertise in project planning, work breakdown, project scheduling and delivery.
  • Demonstrated Expertise in developing and maintaining effective work relationships.
  • Demonstrable skills in analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills, including the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and closure.
  • Ability and prior experience with establishing credibility and fostering collaborative relationships throughout the business.
  • Solid knowledge of component engineering competencies such as component selection, CAD library establishment, and maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of Altium PCBA design toolset, including Altium 365.
  • Solid knowledge of various Simulation and DRC techniques and tools.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant product testing/certification standards for RF, esp. in the 2.4GHz & 5Ghz bands. E.g. BLE, WiFi, Zigbee
  • Prior Experience in the design and deployment of battery-operated devices
  • Prior Experience with firmware/embedded software development
  • Ability to discuss complexities in both technical and lay terms with ease
  • Knowledge of home automation technologies and standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of battery chemistries and charge/discharge properties preferred.
  • Knowledge of DC motor control techniques and circuits and preferred.
