CapTech’sCustomer Experience (CX) team seeks anInclusive Design Managerwith a proven track record of creating sophisticated digital interfacesthat are usable and accessibleto join our ever-growing team.

As anInclusiveDesign Manager, you’ll activelyengage as a member of theCustomer Experience practice areacollaboratingacross teamstodesign anddevelopinnovative andconformantsolutions thatensure ourdigital products areaccessible topeopleacross a wide spectrum of ability. You willdesign,contribute to, test and review projects, providing actionable feedback and adviceon accessibility improvements. You will also be actively involved in raising awareness for the importance ofaccessibility throughout the organization.Your role is to facilitate the implementation of accessibility features and normalize inclusive design inour work.

Responsibilitiesmay include:

  • Crafting innovative information architectures, task flows, wireframes, prototypesor visual designsthat follow interaction design and accessibility best practices

  • Creating clean, informative, and concise presentations for clients and internal teams that communicate the rationale behind your designs

  • Consulting with clients and team members on the benefits of user experience and design

  • Workingwith internal teams to develop solutions for the implementation of accessibility features and inclusive design

  • Advocatingforand spreadingawarenessofaccessibility across the company

  • Buildingand maintainingvariousaccessibility-focuseddocumentation and toolkits available to all employees

  • Conductingreviews, tests and inspections of the different projects at predetermined milestones in order toensure conformance with Accessibility Standards

  • Supporting trackingand reportingon accessibility-related task progressacrossprojects

  • Helping to build, update, maintain and ensure compliancewiththe internal Accessibility Standards

  • Collaboratingwith project and department leadership toplan roadmaps and assign tasks associated with the implementation and testing of accessibility in ourwork

  • Stay up-to-date and informed on industry benchmarks, best practices, legal requirements and accessibility studies

  • Assistwithvarious workshops and trainings regardinginclusive design

Qualifications

  • Proven written, verbal, conceptual and visual communication skills

  • High-level understanding of technologies with the ability to weave that understanding together to make informed decisions

  • Ability to create and present to internal teams and clients clean, detailed, deliverables with high production value

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver on time

  • Expert understanding of usability principlesandaccessibility heuristics

  • Advanced proficiencyindesign and prototypingtools such as Axure,InVisionandSketch

  • Advanced knowledge of WCAG and other accessibility guidelines and standards

  • Working knowledge ofmanual and automatedaccessibility reviewmethodologies, using keyboard-only, screen readers, or tools such as Axe or WAVE

  • Proven track record of raising awareness and developing accessibility solutions in previous roles

  • 5+yearsprofessional experience in the design industry

Nice-to-have:

  • 4 year+degree in Design,HCI, Information Sciences,Psychology,Computer Science or other relevant field of study

  • Front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PWAs such as Angular or React)

  • 2+ years professional experience in an Accessibility-focused role

  • CPACCorWASCertification
