Java Developer

Location: Denver, CO/Remote for now

Duration: 6 months to hireAs an Engineer on a new team within the Global Solutions Delivery group, this role would provide crucial technical expertise at a high level and collaboration with teammates, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters on an Agile team across the businesses landscape of projects in the pipeline.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, development and maintenance work of an agile scrum team focused on delivering non-traditional air content to our agency applications.
  • Develop Java based APIs and micro services.
  • Ensure high quality deliverables, testing using a fully automated test framework.
  • Perform code reviews for the team to ensure quality of deliverables of the team.
  • Participate in feature and story refinement and research and analyze impact for new capabilities.
  • Ensure the successful completion of stories during each iteration to achieve Program Increment Objectives
  • Help drive team velocity by working closely with the team. Ensuring functional development work and maintenance and support activities are completed in adherence to the company technology standards.
  • Generate ideas to improve overall system design and/or streamline CI/CD pipeline to generate efficiencies in system flow
  • Participate in supporting the availability and stability of applications in production.

Requirements:
  • 2-5+ years of Java development experience.
  • Experience in the development of scalable enterprise applications in JSON, REST and micro-services on private and public Cloud providers.
  • Experience with Eclipse, Linux, Spring/Hibernate, SonarQube, HTTPS, XML, WSDL, Postman, SQL, noSQL and SOAP services
  • Experience with JUnit, REST-Assured or other automated testing technologies/tools
  • Experience leading and mentoring Agile teams with a substantial commitment to DevOps practices and Behavior Driven Development.
  • Proven experience in micro services and cloud technologies.
  • Experience in driving CI/CD initiatives and pipeline automation
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills, effective conflict resolution skills, and good time management skills
  • Proven experience in leading high performing teams
  • Agile/SAFe certifications and experience preferred.
  • Dynamic and self-motivated with high level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Attention to detail, persistence and follow-through a must.
  • Appetite for learning and acquiring necessary knowledge quickly.
  • Operates independently, requiring little supervision.
  • Travel industry domain experience preferred
  • S. degree in relevant field
