Adult Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Services, CARES, and Outpatient

Behavioral Health Services are offering the opportunity to enroll in a new

program offering a cash incentive to recognize your work treating patients

with substance use disorders. This program is sponsored through the ACCESS

(Advancing Careers, Competencies, and Equity in Substance Treatment

Services) grant. Employees must be >0.6 FTE to be eligible. 50% of the

bonus will be received 90 days after signing the program contract.

Registered Nurses (RNs) may earn up to $7,500 by December 2024

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024

Care Navigators may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024

Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the Behavioral Health Provider (BHP) provides

integrated behavioral health as a key member of the care team in various

settings. The BHP abides by guidelines and expectations specific to the

setting in which they provide patient care. Services will be provided in an

Ambulatory Care Services (ACS) clinic or a school-based center with a

focus on therapeutic interventions across the lifespan. Services include brief

evidence-based treatment for psychiatric disorders and assessing psychosocial

factors in patients with chronic medical conditions and may include substance

abuse screening and treatment. The BHP provides as needed: case management

and consultation, case coordination to facilitate referrals to specialty

care, and crisis intervention.Essential Functions:Provides high quality clinical services to referred individuals, including

short-term evidence-based interventions, support services, and

collaboration with other teams as needed. (70%)

Conducts brief diagnostic screening of patients using evidence-based

assessments and screening tools. (5%)

Provides health behavior change interventions using Motivational Interviewing.

(5%)

Consult with providers as part of the interdisciplinary team and generate

recommendations, referrals, and case management as needed. (5%)

Conduct safety and risk assessments as needed. (5%)

Generate documentation of assessment and intervention in the medical record in

a timely manner. (5%)

Provide education, treatment, and referrals to family members as

appropriate. (5%)

Education:Master's Degree from a certified Master's program in psychology,

counseling, social work, or other related human services degree.

Required

Work Experience:1-3 years Typically 2-3 years of clinical experience post master's degree

Required

Licenses:LPC-Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC State Licensing Board Required or

LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW State Licensing Board Required

and

BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Performs patient care in accordance with evidence-based clinical framework;

achieves high standards of care through the implementation and supervision of

evidence based services and application of clinical policies and procedures

for all patients and staff within a variety of BHS clinic settings.

Knowledge and the ability to audit for compliance of State, Federal and

Agency mandated documentation.

Possesses critical thinking skills that lead to the identification of the

strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches

to problems.

Provides both clinical care and basic administrative assistance.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word.

Advanced knowledge and skills in effective psychological practice in primary

care medical settings, including evidence-based, brief therapy

modalities, crisis intervention, and risk assessment.

Knowledge of patient populations' cultural, religious, ethnic, and

social systems in interactions, care planning, and education.

Knowledge of medical terms, abbreviations, diagnoses, treatment, and

prognosis.

Excellent interpersonal skills and motivation to work as part of a dynamic

interdisciplinary team in various settings.

Skill in providing care appropriate to the age of the patients served within

the clinic setting.

Skill in establishing a therapeutic alliance and engaging the patient in

collaborative goal setting and prioritizing patient needs as part of the care

team in the primary care clinic setting.

Ability to respond to feedback and incorporate it into practice.

Ability to manage the therapeutic relationship including triaging patient to

specialty mental health services and termination.
